Indiana PSI Nail Technician Practice Test

Enhancements should ideally be trimmed or shaped with a fine file because this tool enables precise shaping and smooth finishing of the nail enhancements. A fine file provides a gentler touch that helps to avoid jagged edges and minimizes the risk of chipping or breaking the enhancement. Additionally, using a fine file allows for better control over the shaping process, leading to a more polished and professional appearance.

Employing tools such as coarse files or nail clippers may not provide the same level of finesse. Coarse files are typically used for more aggressive shaping and can leave a rough finish, while nail clippers may cut the enhancement too bluntly, which could lead to uneven edges. An emery board, while functional, is generally less effective than a fine file for achieving the finer details necessary in nail shaping. Thus, the choice of a fine file aligns with best practices in nail technology, prioritizing the quality and appearance of the finished enhancement.
